Roe and Casey have been Overturned by Christian Nationalists within SCOTUS

I do not have a uterus. So, before you read this opinion, bear that in mind.

Why are reproductive rights inherent to 14th amendment and other constitutional imperatives?

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued a 7–2 decision holding that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides a fundamental “right to privacy”, which protects a pregnant woman’s right to an abortion. It protects a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose whether to have an abortion.

“The Supreme Court reaffirmed its “central holding” in its 1992 decision Planned Parenthood v. Casey.”

So, in essence, the Supreme Court has changed it’s mind today with the overturning of Roe and Casey. But why, after all these years, and a reaffirmation, would they do so now?

The past 50 years have ushered in a newly charged ‘silent revolution’ of the radical Christian party, commonly known as Christian Nationalists. The changes in policy and judiciary acts have been subtle for the most part, but sometimes, as is the case of June 24, 2022, when the Supreme Court overruled Roe and Casey in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, they are explosive.

This ruling [Dobbs] is not fueled by constitutional law, but by constitutional interpretation, which, because all Supreme Court Justices are human, is subject to the persistent illusions of one’s place in time.

When referred to as a collective, the six Justices that voted to overrule Roe & Casey, are called “conservative”. This is a disqualifying description; it accurately defines them, both politically & religiously. If humans can be so easily defined by religious/political bias, can any 9, 12, 50, 435 people be trusted to be “judge or jury” “neutral and fair” to 334,824,000 individuals?

Should the Supreme Court be expanded?

Although the Constitution establishes the Supreme Court, it permits Congress to decide how to organize it. This being said, I don’t believe any “court” should be “Supreme”, and should be subject to the will of the people. Voting on abortion rights would be far more fair, than any six individuals issuing a proclamation that will inevitably end the lives of innocent civilians in reproductive distress. That notwithstanding, YES, the Supreme Court should be expanded to a very large number of constitutional experts and individuals that are strictly areligious and apolitical.

But how can this be done?

Congress must agree to reorganize and expand the Supreme Court in session. Write your Local, State, and National representatives. Demand representation and demand a new Civil Rights Act, that Amends and Enhances the constitution of the United States for the next century and more. Demand a secular response, Demand reason and bodily autonomy.

Demand Liberty. 🗽
